Cherry Hill, NJ (Dec. 5 , 2016) — The Ravitz Family Foundation – a private, non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to helping children and families in need in Burlington and Camden counties – announced today that Steve Ravitz, the foundation’s president, will retire after two decades of service to the organization.

Brett Ravitz, Steve’s son and a longtime member of the family’s philanthropic foundation, will take over as the new president of the Ravitz Family Foundation.

Founded in 1996 by successful ShopRite operators Doris and Stanley Ravitz, the Ravitz Family Foundation was created by the couple as a way to give back to the community. The organization grew under the direction of the couple’s son, Steve Ravitz, with the foundation making grants over the years to more than 250 charities and community-based organizations in South Jersey. The foundation has helped fund everything from after school programs and playgrounds to food pantries and community gardens.

“It has been my honor and pleasure to serve as the president of our family’s foundation,” said Steve Ravitz, who will serve as the foundation’s chairman emeritus and a board member. “Over the course of the last 20 years, our foundation has raised more than $2 million for community-based groups and organizations that help families and children in need. I’m so proud of that work and I know Brett will carry us forward as we embark on many new initiatives under his leadership.”
