The Ravitz Family Foundation has been a supporter of the leading non-profit for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as traumatic and acquired brain injuries for over six years. That non-profit is Bancroft Neurohealth, less formally known as Bancroft. For over 130 years, Bancroft has served the South Jersey community and beyond. Bancroft is a regional leader with over 15 facilities and programs and over 200 community group homes and apartments. The need for Bancroft’s services continues to increase. The need for services does not end when a child reaches adulthood; in fact, the continuum of lifetime care offered by Bancroft is one of the hallmarks of the organization.
Bancroft’s presence in the community will grow with the opening of its new Mount Laurel campus, an 80 acre state-of-the-art facility that will allow for a greater number of individuals to be served. The opportunity to design a spacious, new school — named the Bancroft Raymond & Joanne Welsh Campus at Mount Laurel — inspired modern facilities with breathing room, and also imagined what is possible as Bancroft evolves its programs and services for future generations. The Mount Laurel campus will create new opportunities for staff to explore different ways and environments for students to grow progress and develop skills to serve them for a lifetime.
The Ravitz Family Foundation is a proud supporter of Bancroft’s new campus, having recently funded a storefront and classroom that will feature a Ravitz Shoprite branded store. This store will not only serve those who live, work and learn at the new campus; it is also a part of the vocational training program for students at The Bancroft School. The new campus is slated to open in January 2018.
